Why I rarely pug (mostly never)

Pugs are detrimental on so many levels... (also this applies to healers/dps
by the way as well as tanks). Pugs will not allow you to gear your alts
around each others workings, you cannot guarantee to win something that is
useful so Ninja's and other OS will take what you need.

As you get better you actually impede yourself by tanking in a pug due to
the fact that you have to work around your tanking skills being too good for
the dungeon. EG, a lot of builds are worked around you being hit to generate
abilities, healing etc. If you are actually over geared for the dungeons you
pug you look worse than you are as the bad guys can't hit you, therefore not
healing or generating agg. This makes the healer's life hard work as they
depend on your loss of hit points etc to allow half of their builds to kick
in mass heals... See where this is going?

The other draw backs, you are not using the PVE builds as you should because
if the DPS never get into a situatuon of "oh save me" they do not learn
their utility properly. The tank and healer consider your numbers to be more
important than tactics... So how does this end up making it worse for
everyone? Here goes!

* Raiding is built on tactics, team effort and communication. Part of the
reason you 5 man is to take a miniaturised level of this, to learn your
part. Pugs cannot communicate, or rather refuse to. The elitists do not
consider it worthy of their time, the noobs become scared to ask. Overall
result - silent run, kick over nothing... Never learn your part.

* PVP it's actually easier to gear up with this. You don't need to know
tactics, rewards are instant. You learn sweet fa about your role in PVE but
you look the nuts on the gearscore... Never learn your part.

* Abuse - there's never a reason for it, people are easily offended due to
the complete anonimity of the situation. Had they spoken to you in a bar
like that you'd probably nut them, but as it stands their childish/insecure
ways lead to a superiority that they could never master in life. Result -
you have a brain, you feel like it's your doing... Forget it! They are
obviously socially defective and therefore pug as their guilds don't work
together or they are just in there to collect the rewards.

* Guild - you're in one! Why not work with those people? Encourage the guild
rewards system, use your bank repairs... Whatever you do don't waste the
fact you got a bunch of like minded people in one place. Results - you learn
your part, you communicate, you work out tactics, you therefore are a better
team of people in raids.

Overall - I am not going to care if I come bottom of the foodchain on wow
progress and why? My money is better spent on MY happiness not others, if I
get it when I have worked for it I am a happy person. If I got it by sheer
random luck it's just a cop out I can do without. So I for one choose not to
Pug. I am a person, I will commit my life to enjoying it that way. I will
learn my part!

Cheers
